Nikon Japan has published a note indicating that it will be reducing its workforce in accordance to the latest State of Emergency issued by the Japanese government in response to rapidly rising COVID-19 cases and deaths.
Japan's latest state of emergency declaration has been expanded from Tokyo and three surrounding prefectures to seven additional prefectures, with Tokyo seeing the brunt of the latest surge of cases. The state of emergency will be in place until February 7.
