Evening cactus

This is the painting that resulted from using the limited palette below. I managed to make a few greys so I am not about to jump off a bridge. I like it when "real" objects appear in the course of the painting. I find it's best for me just to let that happen. If I started off thinking - I am going to make a painting of a cactus at my mother's house - then I would have frozen. I am discovering that if I paint quite spontaneously then I automatically start recording things and events that are personal to me.
