Artists in Mexico have painted many variations of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The top work, painted on copper by Juan Rodríguez Juárez (1675 - 1728), shows Juan Diego standing with the two angels. Juan Diego is at times shown in paintings with Mary, but works with the angels are rare.
The other image on this post, a work on canvas from the mid-1800s, includes figures who are most likely the patrons of the painting. Patrons can be seen on paintings of Our Lady of Guadalupe but this is not common. In this work the artist is not known.
